Neil Harbisson

Neil Harbisson (born 27 July 1982 in Mataró) is a British artist known for his ability to hear colours. In 2004, he became the first person in the world to have an antenna implanted in his head. Neil Harbisson whose antenna implant allows him to perceive ultraviolet and infrared colors. The inclusion of the antenna in his passport photograph is interpreted by some as Harbisson's official recognition as a cyborg. Colour and the use of technology as an extension of the artist (and not as part of the performance art) are central themes in Harbisson's work. In 2010, he founded the Cyborg Foundation, an international organisation to help humans 'become cyborgs'.
